Microneedling with Skin Stylus

SkinStylus® Microneedling in Las Vegas and Henderson, NV

Not all microneedling devices are the same. At Signature Plastic Surgery & Dermatology, we are committed to providing the best results possible with highly trained practitioners and cutting-edge technology. We are excited to include the latest in microneedling technology with the SkinStylus® Microneedling device—a truly significant change in the dermatological industry. SkinStylus® is a medical-grade microneedling device that has been FDA-approved for both the face and abdomen.

Smooth, flawless skin is a desire and goal for many individuals. Microneedling is one of the most popular treatments that many dermatologists, estheticians, and aestheticians utilize to help with this quest. It is a non-invasive procedure that uses a handheld device equipped with tiny needles that create micro-punctures to the skin, stimulating the body’s natural production of collagen and elastin. This natural regeneration can improve the texture of the skin, erase the appearance of scars, tighten lines and wrinkles, lighten hyperpigmentation, and more.

What Sets SkinStylus® Microneedling Treatments Apart from Other Microneedling Devices?

The SkinStylus® Microneedling device sets itself apart from other devices because of the three different FDA-approved cartridges that are cleared to a 2.5mm depth. It is the only microneedling device that is disinfected or reprocessed without the need for a protective sheath. The sterile system is ideal for patients with sensitive skin or autoimmune conditions that may be triggered by other devices. Additionally, it is the only microneedling system that contains cartridges that use gamma-ray sterilization for increased protection against infection.

What Can SkinStylus® Microneedling Treat?

The SkinStylus® microneedling pen can treat a myriad of skin imperfections, including:

  • Fine lines
  • Enlarged pores
  • Scars—acne, surgical, and injury-related
  • Stretch marks
  • Hyperpigmentation
  • Rough, bumpy texture
  • Mild skin laxity

Additional benefits of microneedling include being safe for all skin types, minimal downtime, and long-lasting results.

What to Expect from a SkinStylus® Microneedling Treatment?

Your treatment begins with your microneedling provider thoroughly cleansing your skin. A topical numbing cream will be applied to the treatment area upon your request to help make the experience comfortable and relaxing. Once the skin is properly prepared, your treatment will begin with your provider gliding the handheld microneedling device over the targeted areas, including the forehead, cheeks, chin, and abdomen. The entire process will take around 30 minutes to an hour to complete.

After your microneedling treatment, your skin will be red and slightly irritated. We encourage our patients to apply cool compresses intermittently throughout the day to help reduce inflammation and calm any discomfort. It’s important to keep your skin clean and hydrated during the brief recovery period. Avoid picking, scratching, or exfoliating the small scabs that will form in the following days, and allow the skin to heal on its own. Apply moisturizer liberally and refrain from applying makeup until the treatment areas are completely healed.

“The most fulfilling moment in my profession is seeing a big smile on my patients’ faces. I feel very special to be able to make a difference in their life and help regain their confidence or achieve a look that they have been dreaming of their whole lives.”

Who Is an Ideal Candidate for SkinStylus® Microneedling Treatments?

The SkinStylus® Microneedling device can be used on all skin types and tones. Even individuals with darker complexions are ideal candidates for microneedling with the SkinStylus® device as there is little risk of pigment change or post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation. It is the ideal alternative for patients who do not or cannot receive laser treatments but want more rejuvenation than delivered through a typical chemical peel or microdermabrasion treatment. Additionally, the SkinStylus® device is gentle enough to treat sensitive and fragile areas that are difficult to treat with other procedures.

Microneedling is not suitable for patients who:

  • Have recently started Accutane, or have been on Accutane for the past six months
  • Have open abrasions, wounds, or cuts in the treatment area
  • Have been diagnosed with HIV/AIDS, diabetes, or issues with blood clotting
  • Have received facial fillers or Botox® in the past two weeks
  • Patients with active acne or herpes breakouts
  • Are currently pregnant or breastfeeding

How to Prepare for Your SkinStylus® Microneedling Treatment

When preparing for your microneedling session, we encourage our patients to avoid products with harsh chemicals including retinols, Accutane, salicylic acid, and glycolic acid. Ensure that your skin is healthy and free of damage by avoiding sun exposure to and around the treatment area for at least 24 hours before your scheduled session. Make sure that your skin is moisturized from the inside out by applying your favorite topical creams and drinking plenty of water.
