There is a lot of excitement surrounding non-surgical body contouring treatments these days, and rightfully so. We are pleased to offer patients of our Las Vegas area office the choice between surgical and non-surgical treatments. For better body contours, many of our patients turn to CoolSculpting®. Because we field a lot of questions about this treatment, we see just how many “fake facts” exist. Here, we want to set the record straight.
Straight Fact #1 – CoolSculpting Is Not Going To Replace Diet And Exercise.
To be honest, there is no way to replicate the value of healthy lifestyle habits – not even with surgery. Like liposuction, CoolSculpting is more of a complement to diet and exercise. It is a treatment that is more of the icing on the top than the whole cake. To get the most value out of CoolSculpting, we encourage our patients to take good care of their body before and after their treatment by eating fresh, whole foods and engaging in some type of physical activity every day.
STRAIGHT FACT #2 – COOLSCULPTING WON’T MAKE YOU LOSE WEIGHT.
This fact plays off of Fact #1. The objective of CoolSculpting treatment is to destroy unruly fat cells, this is true. However, many patients are surprised to discover that the elimination of targeted fat cells doesn’t move the scale, at least not by much. After fat-freezing treatment, what you’re more likely to see is a change in pants size than a substantial drop in weight.
Straight Fact #3 – CoolSculpting Has No Noticeable Effect On The Skin.
As the name implies, CoolSculpting is all about sculpting the body. While this approach to contouring is ideal for many people, it is important to understand that loose skin will not tighten as a result of this treatment. We want you to get results you will love. During your consultation, we will observe the laxity of your skin and, if necessary, suggest more appropriate treatment to achieve your desired outcome.
