Massage is an ancient ritual that is used to help heal the mind, body, and soul. Clinically proven to help ease stress, relax the mind, and calm muscles in the body, did you know that massage is also recommended for post breast surgery? By helping to break up the scar tissue and help give you a more realistic look, massage after breast surgery will help you heal better and smoother. Read on to learn more.
In order to get the most effective type of massage, you are going to need to remove your bra and clothing so that you can have skin-to-skin contact. This will also help you to grab hold of your implant more easily.
When massaging your breasts, you are going to want to use a steady amount of pressure by using both hands in order to get the best results. You want to apply enough pressure so that you can feel it (it should feel sore) but not so much that you are in an excruciating amount of pain.
After you start to apply pressure to your implant, you are going to want to pull the breast tissue upward while pulling the implant downward. Although it may feel uncomfortable at first, doing this will help to ensure that no scar tissue forms and builds up, which can be painful and irritating later on. Try to continue doing this for about 10 minutes.
Next, you will want to repeat each step on the other side. Make sure to practice the art of massage everyday for about 1-2 weeks, depending on what your surgeon recommends.
After Breast Surgery
Massaging your breasts following surgery will not only break up scar tissue but will help you to heal properly and look your best afterwards.
