HydraFacials take only about 30 minutes. The first step in reviving the skin is to cleanse and exfoliate. The vortex cleansing and hydra peel tip removes dead and damaged skin cells and opens the pores, all without causing irritation. Patients describe the feeling as similar to placing an electric toothbrush against the skin. The next step in the HydraFacial is to gently peel debris and dead cells via a light chemical peel. Here, salicylic and glycolic acids are delivered through a different tip on the applicator wand. The purpose of the light peel is to further open the pores to loosen debris that is causing enlargement or acne flare-ups. Typically, extractions during facials are known for being relatively uncomfortable. This isn’t the case with the HydraFacial. Using this device, exfoliation is done quickly using vortex suction. The last step of the facial involves the application of a hydrating serum. The final, nourishing step can be augmented, as well, with various serums formulated to address specific concerns.
